{"id":15149,"date":"2025-11-28T14:20:38","date_gmt":"2025-11-28T06:20:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=15149"},"modified":"2025-11-28T14:20:38","modified_gmt":"2025-11-28T06:20:38","slug":"singapore-to-grant-one-off-property-tax-rebate-for-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=15149","title":{"rendered":"Singapore to grant one-off property tax rebate for 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-testid=\"article-body-container\">\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">[SINGAPORE] The government will give a one-off property tax rebate in 2026, to cushion property tax increases for owner-occupiers of both public and private housing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">Owner-occupiers of Housing &amp; Development Board (HDB) flats will get a tax rebate of 15 per cent, while private residential owner-occupiers will get a 10 per cent rebate capped at S$500.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">This will help to cushion property tax increases for Singaporeans, amid a moderating residential rental market with modest increases in market rents, said the Ministry of Finance and Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (Iras) on Friday (Nov 28).<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">The rebate will be automatically offset against any property tax payable in the owners\u2019 2026 property tax bill.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">Owner-occupiers living in three-room and larger HDB flats will see an average property tax increase of S$2 to S$3 a month after the rebate. <\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">All one and two-room HDB owner-occupiers will continue to pay no property tax.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">Half of private property owner-occupiers will see a property tax increase of less than S$6 a month after the rebate.
