Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 <\/em><\/strong>publisher Activision has announced that anybody who owns the latest entry in the series will be receiving an additional 30% XP boost in its free-to-play Battle Royale counterpart, Call of Duty: Warzone<\/em>. The controversial benefit will come into effect from Season 1 next month, giving Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 <\/em>players even more XP when they jump into Warzone<\/em>. This means players will be able to level up both their character and weapons in the free-to-play title more quickly than those who don’t own the latest entry in the Call of Duty <\/em>series.<\/p>\n

After a successful launch earlier this month, Activision and developer Treyarch Studios have now pulled back the curtain on the shooter’s big Season 1 content update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7<\/em> <\/em>and Warzone<\/em>. The first season will debut on December 4, bringing a wealth of content to both titles. For Multiplayer fans, Treyarch is continuing the trend of bringing back iconic Black Ops <\/em>maps, as Standoff, Meltdown, and Fringe will all be returning throughout the season. There’s also plenty of new weapons, which will be available across both Black Ops 7 <\/em>and Warzone<\/em>, as well as a new Battle Pass for players to level up, tons of new Operator Skins, and much more.<\/p>\n

\n Black Ops 7 Owners Get XP Boost in Warzone From Season 1

Following the reveal of the Season 1 Roadmap, Activision has now announced that anybody who owns Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 <\/em>will receive a 30% XP boost in Call of Duty: Warzone<\/em>. This benefit will come alongside the new content update on December 4, but will seemingly be available throughout the entirety of Black Ops 7<\/em>‘s life cycle. The boost will also be to both level and weapon progression, which means there will be a 30% increase in the speed at which the two are leveled up. However, this won’t have an effect on the seasonal Battle Passes for Black Ops 7<\/em>, meaning all players will unlock Tiers at the exact same rate. Unless a player makes use of a Double Battle Pass XP Token, of course.<\/p>\n

This benefit was also available to Black Ops 6 <\/em>players during its life cycle, so the announcement shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to players. But, with that being said, it is once again incredibly controversial. In response to the reveal, many pointed out that there should be the same benefit inside of Black Ops 7<\/em>, such as in the game’s Multiplayer. Others mocked Activision by claiming that this is merely an attempt to “boost sales numbers” for the latest entry in the series.<\/p>\n

But the real question is: Is this a fair benefit for Black Ops 7<\/em> players to have? As Call of Duty: Warzone <\/em>is a free-to-play title, there will likely be a large number of players who don’t own the latest entry in the series and merely enjoy the Battle Royale experience. However, those who don’t own Black Ops 7 <\/em>will now be at a disadvantage when it comes to leveling up their weapons and character when compared to other players. Although it offers no gameplay advantage, new weapons often become meta very quickly, so leveling them up is vital to keep on top. There’s also a clear reason Double XP Tokens cannot be purchased for Black Ops 7<\/em> or Warzone: Activision seemingly believes it would be unfair to allow that, yet it does allow players to essentially purchase a permanent XP boost for $70, which is a clear contradiction.<\/p>\n

Thankfully, there are plenty of other ways for Call of Duty: Warzone <\/em>players to get their hands on Double XP tokens. Not only will they be included in the free tiers of the Season 1 Battle Pass, but Activision also has numerous promotions with the likes of Monster Energy and Little Caesars that offer in-game rewards such as cosmetic items and Tokens. The studio also recently revealed that it would be giving Call of Duty<\/em> players tons of rewards in Season 1, including 15 hours worth of Double XP Tokens. To receive them, players simply need to verify their email address on their Activision account when Season 1 goes live on December 4.<\/p>\n
