A ride home quickly spiraled into an anxiety-inducing ordeal for TikToker Lydia after her TADA driver repeatedly got lost while taking shortcuts, then lashed out at her.<\/p>\n
In her clip, travel and lifestyle creator Lydia recounted what she called her “worst PHV experience ever”.<\/p>\n
She said the driver attempted to take a shortcut but ended up turning into a car park with a dead end. In trying to get out, he drove into yet another dead-end, resulting in multiple U-turns and repeated GPS recalculations.<\/p>\n
Lydia said the driver then insisted she had “reached already”, even though the GPS showed she was still a 20-minute walk away. She told him that was not her destination, and that was when the situation escalated.<\/p>\n
‘Then you want me to drive u around?’: Driver<\/h3>\n
Lydia said she offered alternatives, such as giving him the postal code or the name of the condominium. But instead of calming down, he grew more agitated.<\/p>\n
In the clip, he can be heard saying: “Then you want me to drive you around? Who the hell are you?”<\/p>\n
He added: “You pay me a few dollars ah. You treat me like what, your chauffeur ah.”<\/p>\n
Lydia tried to explain she simply wanted to get to her destination, but he accused her of wasting his time and fuel.<\/p>\n
He also accused her of “putting in the wrong address”, she said, adding that both parties grew increasingly frustrated.<\/p>\n
After he missed the last turn, she told him to “forget it” and said she would get off by the roadside. He then accused her of lying about her destination, eventually telling her to “go to hell”.<\/p>\n
“I am saving you time,” Lydia shouted back as she got out of the car, adding in subtitles that she did not want him to make another round. She also stressed that she had not given the wrong address.<\/p>\n
According to Lydia, TADA contacted her through multiple emails following the incident and informed her that the driver had been suspended.<\/p>\n
On Nov 20, the platform offered her a full refund and a personalised voucher.<\/p>\n
Posted on Nov 13, the video has since gained more than 943,000 views, 58,100 likes and 1,800 comments at press time. It is unclear where the incident took place.<\/p>\n
‘Pretty sure he’s not suspended’: Netizens<\/h3>\n
Since the incident, others have reached out to Lydia saying they had encountered the same driver before and recognised his voice.<\/p>\n
Screenshots shared by Lydia showed multiple netizens describing similar run-ins, suggesting that the incident was far from a one-off.<\/p>\n
“Not sure what was done because why am I still seeing this in November,” Lydia said in her follow-up video.<\/p>\n
Some then began questioning whether the suspension would make any real difference.<\/p>\n
“There were so many previous complaints, and yet you still encountered him,” one commenter noted, while another suggested that the suspension might be “only for 1\u20132 weeks”.<\/p>\n

<\/picture>Another commenter said, “That’s his job though,” referring to the moment when the driver complained that she was supposedly making him “drive her around”.<\/p>\n
Others raised separate concerns, with one commenter asking why Lydia had not reported the matter to the Land Transport Authority (LTA) or the police.<\/p>\n

In response to Stomp’s queries, a TADA spokesperson confirmed that the driver has been suspended following internal investigations.<\/p>\n
“At TADA, we take all feedback related to safety, conduct, and service standards very seriously,” the spokesperson said, adding that the rider has been refunded her fare and given additional vouchers as part of the platform’s service recovery.<\/p>\n
