Oura, the Finnish health technology company best known for its smart ring lineup, has filed a complaint<\/b> with the US International Trade Commission against Samsung and three other companies.<\/p>\n

In the filing, Oura alleges that Samsung (Galaxy Ring)<\/b>, Reebok (Reebok Smart Ring)<\/b>, Zepp Health (Amazfit Ring)<\/b>, and Nexxbase (Luna Ring)<\/b> have infringed on several of its patents<\/b> covering internal and external components, as well as manufacturing methods. <\/p>\n

None of the four companies have paid royalties for the use of its patented technologies, making the importation and sale of their products in the US \u201cunlawful\u201d. <\/p>\n

Oura maintains that royalty-based licensing provides a clear and fair pathway for companies to bring compliant products to consumers while respecting its intellectual property rights and accelerating innovation in the smart ring space. <\/p>\n

It added that patent disputes with Circular, RingConn, and OMATE had been resolved, pointing to these cases as evidence of how licensing agreements can support compliance and drive the industry forward.<\/p>\n
