Photo: Shutterstock<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1xdhyk6 ec74h0k0\">Shoulder-season visitors to <span data-qa=\"Component-Text\" class=\"css-0 ef9u0v00\">this Honshu Island city<\/span> may miss out on the peak sakura\/spring blossoms (forecast for the first week of April, in 2026) and peak autumn foliage (mid to late November) but they do get to experience Kanazawa\u2019s well-preserved Edo-period architecture and gardens such as Kenroku-en without the crowds of the high season or those of Kyoto, about 235km away.<\/div>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Furthermore, shoulder-season weather tends to be cool and clear, better suited for hiking Mount Iouzen or strolling through the Teramachi Temple District (home to the 1643 Myoryuji Temple) free from the intense humidity of summer.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\"><strong data-qa=\"ContentSchemaRender-defaultRenderMapFunctions-Component\" class=\"css-1mniedq ex3nmsa17\">Where to stay:<\/strong> OMO5 Kanazawa Katamachi by Hoshino Resorts, a modern hotel located in the bustling Katamachi district, known for its shopping, dining and nightlife. It is a five-minute walk from Kenroku-en Garden and the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, the only guided tours of which are provided by the hotel.
