In a new message to those fans, AdHoc Studios is sharing in players’ sadness. However, the development team is also reveling in success, announcing that the game has amassed an impressive total of more than 2 million players spread across PlayStation 5 and Steam.<\/p>\nFans have responded to the message with gratitude of their own, sharing their love for the episodic adventure and congratulating the team on its success so far. The support from the fan base is not surprising, considering that Dispatch<\/em> is enjoying “Overwhelmingly Positive” user reviews on Steam, with a 97 percent approval rate among close to 54,000 reviews. It’s also performing very well on OpenCritic, with a 94 percent critic recommendation rate and a perfect player rating of 100. Dispatch has also made The Game Awards 2025’s nominees list under the Best Debut Indie Game category, though it’s got tough competition from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33<\/em>, Blue Prince<\/em>, and Despelote<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n

Throughout the eight episodes, there are various player choices that can ultimately affect the endings for multiple Dispatch<\/em> characters. Some of these choices involve romance, as Robert could end up with Blonde Blazer, Invisigal, neither, or in a tricky love triangle. The subject of Invisigal’s status at the end of the story is also a variable one, as she has the potential to become either a hero or a villain.<\/p>\n\n

However, the most dramatic choices are likely the ones in episode 8 that center around Shroud, as players have the choice to give him the Astral Pulse or the prototype, though handing him both sets up possibly the most satisfying ending of all. As long as players have built up a good relationship with Invisigal, they’ll be given the option to spare Shroud or choke him to death, finally getting vengeance for the murder of Robert’s father. However, choosing the former option will still see Robert beating Shroud to a pulp before he’s taken away by the Superhero Defense Network, which could potentially be the canon ending, as leaving him alive could possibly allow for a daring escape, a scenario in which he controls the chaos from the shadows, or even a redemption arc. Conversely, if Robert doesn’t kill him, Invisigal just might, and she could prove to be an even more formidable foe for season 2.<\/p>\n

While the end of season 1 content is still fresh in players’ minds, many are already wondering about the possibilities in store for a second season. The development team has yet to officially confirm whether Dispatch<\/em> will continue on after episode 8, though AdHoc’s chief creative officer, Pierre Shorette, stated earlier in November that the team was going to have to think about its options following the success of the first season. Additionally, Aaron Paul hopes season 2 of Dispatch<\/em> is coming, as he recently appeared on co-star MoistCr1TiKaL’s YouTube channel and told him, “I hope that you and I get to do multiple seasons of this game.”<\/p>\n\n
