A man was disgusted to see a raw chicken being placed on the floor at Upper Boon Keng Market & Food Centre.<\/p>\n
Stomper Revathi<\/b><\/span> said he witnessed staff from Al Hikmah Chicken Rice putting the whole chicken on the floor on Nov 12 at 8.32pm.<\/p>\n “The neighbouring stall says they always do this. It’s terrible,” said the Stomper, who did not approach the staff or report it to the Singapore Food Agency (SFA).<\/p>\n In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) said on Nov 17 that it is investigating.<\/p>\n “Food safety is a joint responsibility,” the agency added.<\/p>\n “While SFA puts in place and enforces the regulatory measures, food operators must play their part by adhering to good food hygiene and preparation practices. Food operators should also ensure their premises are clean and well-maintained.<\/p>\n “Members of the public who have concerns about food safety practices by food operators should report to SFA via the online feedback form.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n “SFA takes a serious view towards food safety and will investigate all feedback alleging poor food safety practices. As part of the enquiry and gathering of evidence, SFA may engage the feedback provider for more details and will not hesitate to take enforcement action if sufficient evidence has been obtained.”<\/p>\n
