It appears that the car, SLN773L, is not registered in the Land Transport Authority&#8217;s database.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\"><span><a class=\"text-primary-500 hover:underline\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/reel\/1386850942994269\" target=\"_blank\">In a video posted on Facebook groups<\/a><\/span> SGRV and SG Road Vigilante, the black Volkswagen can be seen approaching and rear-ending another car. The driver of the car that was hit is then seen stepping out to inspect the damage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">Moments later, a man in a long-sleeve shirt emerges from the black Volkswagen and walks over. He moves out of frame, apparently in discussion with the victim.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">&#8220;He (wanted) a private settlement, but we refused,&#8221; the original poster said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">The poster added that the driver appeared to be &#8220;under the influence&#8221;, describing his eyes as unfocused and his walking unsteady.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">According to the post, both drivers had agreed to stop at the side of the road for inspection of the vehicles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">However, as shown in the footage, the Volkswagen drove away instead and the poster shared that no information had been exchanged.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">When Stomp searched the plate number on LTA&#8217;s website, the system said there was &#8220;no record found&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">As of press time, the original video on SGRV has garnered at least 1,000 likes, 195 comments and 380 shares.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">Netizens urged motorists to take extra steps in such situations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">Facebook user Richard Teo advised others to immediately take photos when an accident has occurred, instead of only relying on dashcam footage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">&#8220;Don&#8217;t always rely on your car cameras as they only take one angle. Sometimes camera can malfunction or file corrupted,&#8221; he wrote.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">Others pointed out Volkswagen driver&#8217;s odd behaviour, highlighting that he left his door wide open when he exited the car.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">Facebook user KC Loh wrote: &#8220;Any passing vehicle might hit the door and\/or him, and become another accident.
