{"id":11986,"date":"2025-11-16T17:32:34","date_gmt":"2025-11-16T09:32:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=11986"},"modified":"2025-11-16T17:32:34","modified_gmt":"2025-11-16T09:32:34","slug":"ex-sengkang-hospital-doctor-convicted-of-voyeurism-for-taking-video-of-woman-showering","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=11986","title":{"rendered":"Ex-Sengkang Hospital doctor convicted of voyeurism for taking video of woman showering"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\"><span><b>Claudia Tan<\/b><\/span><span><br \/><\/span><span><b>The Straits Times<\/b><\/span><span><br \/><\/span><span><b>Nov 14, 2025<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">A doctor who had worked at Sengkang General Hospital (SKH) was <span><a class=\"text-primary-500 hover:underline\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/singapore\/courts-crime\/doctor-34-convicted-of-voyeurism-after-using-phone-to-film-woman-in-shower\" target=\"_blank\">convicted of voyeurism<\/a><\/span> in a district court on Nov 13.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">Jonathan Soh Jingyao, 34, used his mobile phone to record a video of a woman showering in an apartment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">He will be sentenced on Dec 15. A spokesperson for SKH told ST earlier that <span><a class=\"text-primary-500 hover:underline\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/singapore\/courts-crime\/doctor-accused-of-two-counts-of-voyeurism-has-resigned-sengkang-general-hospital\" target=\"_blank\">he had resigned from his job<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">Deputy Prosecutor Xu Sijia asked for a jail term of eight to 10 weeks for Soh, as he had breached the relationship of trust he had with the victim.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">&#8220;The accused also took steps to evade detection, as he deleted the recording of the victim after she noticed that he was filming her,&#8221; DPP Xu told the court.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">Soh&#8217;s relationship with the victim was redacted in court documents. She cannot be identified due to a gag order to protect her identity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">On April 14, 2024, the woman was showering in the common toilet beside the kitchen in an apartment, when Soh held his phone up to the window connecting the kitchen and the toilet to film her.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">The victim noticed the phone near the window and shouted, prompting Soh to exit the kitchen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">She later requested CCTV footage to identify the person who filmed her showering.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-secondary pt-md text-18 font-normal leading-1.5 text-grayscale-800\">By then, Soh had deleted the video from his phone.
