The Smart Home Tech Show <\/b>is back this year at Suntec Convention Center Levels 3 and 4. As the name suggests, there\u2019s a whole host of smart home tech on display, but it\u2019s also a good place to get a deal on a laptop. Look hard enough, and you\u2019ll even find the odd audio product here and there. So, I went down to Suntec to scout out the promising deals you can find on the show floor (spoilers: if you\u2019re looking for laptops, you\u2019ll be hanging out at level 3 a lot).<\/p>\n
The show is open from 13-16 November<\/b>. Level 3 and level 4 open at 11am and 12pm respectively, with both closing at 9pm. The notebook is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 155U processor (with an Intel AI Boost NPU), with a 16-inch IPS display that a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. The rest of the internals are pretty standard as well, with 16GB of LPDDR5 memory and a 512GB PCIe Gen4 SSD.<\/p>\n It\u2019s going for a showroom price of S$1,399 <\/b>(U.P. S$1,699) and you can find it at CR Group\u2019s booth (308) on level 3.<\/p>\n Acer Swift X 14 AI<\/p>\n Photo: HWZ<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n If you\u2019re looking for something with a bit more oomph though, you can take a look at the Acer Swift X 14 AI. The screen real estate might be a bit smaller, but inside you\u2019ll find an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 or 4060 depending on the SKU you get. On the outside, you\u2019re looking at a 14.5-inch OLED touch panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels.\u00a0<\/p>\n The RTX 4060 models of the Acer Swift X 14 AI go on the show floor for S$1,949 <\/b>(U.P. S$2,199) for 16GB of memory and S$2,029 <\/b>(U.P. S$2,399) for 32GB memory.\u00a0<\/p>\n There\u2019s also a more powerful variant that features an AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 CPU and an RTX 5060 going for S$2,699 <\/b>(U.P. S$3,099), though a representative at the booth told me that the stock on that model isn\u2019t as available as the RTX 40-series ones. You can find the Swift X 14 AI at CR Group\u2019s booth (308).<\/p>\n Anker USB-C Hub 5-in-1<\/p>\n Photo: HWZ<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n If you\u2019re planning on getting a notebook at the show, you\u2019d be remiss not to leave without some accessories for it too. For that, Anker has you covered with this 5-in-1 USB-C Hub. Here, you can find two additional USB-A 2.0 ports, and one USB-A 3.0. Plus, there\u2019s a USB-C port capable of Power Delivery up to 90W and an HDMI port that can output at 4K@30Hz (these two will require your laptop to support Power Delivery and DisplayPort Alt Mode respectively to run optimally).<\/p>\n This USB-C Hub is going for S$49.90<\/b> (U.P. S$79.90) at Anker\u2019s booth (8112) on level 4.<\/p>\n ASUS Zenbook A14.<\/p>\n Photo: HWZ.<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n We previously covered ASUS\u2019s Zenbook A14 back when it was released in February. Well, time flies, because now you can get it for a deal at the Smart Home Tech Show. The ARM-powered laptop packs a Snapdragon X X1 26 100 CPU with Qualcomm Hexagon NPU for AI workloads, and is lightweight to boot, coming in at just under a kilogram.<\/p>\n You can get it for S$1,549 <\/b>(the image above is listing the original S$1,699 retail price) at the CR Group booth (308).<\/p>\n ASUS Vivobook S14 Flip<\/p>\n Photo: HWZ<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n As it happens, we featured the ASUS Vivobook S14 Flip in our last Smart Home Tech Show list, but the config making an appearance here features an Intel Core i5-13420H processor, rather than the Ryzen CPU in last year\u2019s show. Still, it remains a relatively affordable 2-in-1, with a 14-inch IPS touchscreen that has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and a 512GB NVMe SSD.<\/p>\n You can find the Vivobook S14 Flip at CR Group Booth 308 for S$999<\/b> (U.P. S$1,099).<\/p>\n Stumbling across a bunch of neatly stacked JBL Go 2 speakers<\/p>\n Photo: HWZ<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n Taking a break from all the laptops, I spotted a bunch of JBL Go 2 Bluetooth speakers going for a deal. The Go 2 might be a little bit old at this point, releasing in early 2018, but it\u2019s still a decent option if you just need a simple waterproof wireless speaker to bring on days out, and don\u2019t already have one. Battery life measures at 5 hours according to JBL.\u00a0<\/p>\n What\u2019s great about this is the price, as it\u2019s going for S$39.90 <\/b>(U.P. S$69.90) <\/b>for one unit, and S$60 for two<\/b>. You can find it tucked away in a corner at CR Group\u2019s booth.<\/p>\n Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5i<\/p>\n Photo: HWZ<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n Lenovo makes an appearance at the show with the IdeaPad Pro 5i (Gen 10), a pretty powerful workhorse notebook. The specific config on sale at the show features a 14-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels running at a refresh rate of up t o120Hz, as well as an Intel Core Ultra 9 285H processor. You can find it at CR Group\u2019s booth on level 3.\u00a0<\/p>\n A note on the price: Although Lenovo\u2019s laptops only have their retail prices shown (or in this case, the S$1,749 price for this SKU on CR Group\u2019s website), there are still reduced show prices, though you\u2019ll have to approach the representatives to ask. I was told, however, that the Lenovo laptops on display can have discounts up to 15%, depending on the model.<\/p>\n Lenovo Yoga 7 2-in-1 (both Intel and AMD options available)<\/p>\n Photo: HWZ<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n The other laptop convertible to make it to the list, the two configs of the Lenovo Yoga 7 2-in-1 on the show floor feature either an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V or an AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 CPU. No matter which version you get though, both are of the Seashell colourway, which features a vegan leather exterior. When you open the laptop up, you\u2019ll be greeted by a 14-inch OLED touchscreen, either with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels for the Intel Yoga 7, or a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels for the AMD version.<\/p>\n The Intel Yoga 7 has a list price of S$2,299 while the AMD Yoga 7 retails for S$1,699, though you can approach the representatives for the show price. You can find it at CR Group\u2019s booth.<\/p>\n Logitech Yeti GX and Yeti Orb<\/p>\n Photo: HWZ<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n Ending off the list by going back up to level 4, the Logitech Yeti GX is a dynamic USB microphone that might be a little bit too gamer-y for this list, but it still looks pretty stylish if you make the RGB a little bit subtler. The GX has a supercardioid pickup pattern and a maximum SPL of 135dB. It\u2019s also capable of recording at a 24bit\/96kHz sample rate.<\/p>\n As for the Yeti Orb, it might be strangely-shaped, but as we reviewed a couple years ago, it\u2019s still a solid pick-up-and-play USB microphone. You might notice a distinct lack of buttons on the outside; this makes setup real simple, but it does also mean you\u2019ll have to adjust the microphone\u2019s settings through Logitech\u2019s G Hub software. It also has a cardioid <\/b>pickup pattern.<\/p>\n You can find the Yeti GX going for S$169 <\/b>(U.P. S$219) and the Yeti Orb going for S$59 <\/b>(U.P. S$89) on the showfloor.
