SINGAPORE \u2013 During a dispute in Geylang, two men allegedly used a baton to attack a couple they know.<\/p>\n
They were arrested within four hours of the incident.<\/p>\n
On Nov 13, Lee See Yeow, 39, and Tan Khoon Siong, 38, were charged with voluntarily causing hurt by a dangerous weapon in a district court.<\/p>\n
Charge sheets stated that both men allegedly used an extendable metal baton to assault a male victim by hitting his face and body at about 6.50pm on Nov 11 around Lorong 24 Geylang. <\/p>\n
The victim sustained a laceration on his right wrist and two broken teeth from the attack. He was taken to the hospital that day. <\/p>\n
The charge sheets did not indicate what happened to the woman. <\/p>\n
Lee and Tan and the couple were known to each other, the police said in a statement on Nov 12.<\/p>\n
Through ground inquiries and footage from police cameras, officers identified Lee and Tan and arrested them within four hours of the incident. <\/p>\n
For voluntarily causing hurt with a dangerous weapon, an offender can be jailed for up to seven years, fined, caned, or receive a combination of any of such punishments. <\/p>\n
Lee\u2019s and Tan\u2019s cases will be heard in court again on Dec 11. <\/p>\n
