A GrabFood delivery rider was left frustrated after being assigned what he described as a ‘fake order’ from McDonald’s on Nov 4.<\/p>\n
Sharing his experience with Stomp, Stomper Humble E-bike<\/b><\/span> said the customer had allegedly placed the order and provided an incorrect unit number at an Ang Mo Kio HDB block.<\/p>\n “Again, I got played by a loan shark placing fake orders amounting to $53.90,” he said.<\/p>\n “It was deducted from my Grab wallet, and Grab has yet to refund me.<\/p>\n “Last time also same. I hate cash orders.”<\/p>\n According to the Stomper, the customer refused to answer his calls and only responded via message, providing another unit number that also turned out to be false.<\/p>\n “I knocked on both doors,” he said. “One didn’t open, and the other resident said they never placed any order.”<\/p>\n In screenshots shared by the Stomper, the customer tells him ‘don’t worry’ and that they would give him the exact amount after he tells them he has no change.<\/p>\n They then stop replying after the rider calls them out for ‘playing games’.<\/p>\n In response to a Stomp query, a Grab spokesperson said on Nov 12: “We apologise for the experience our delivery-partner had while completing this order.<\/p>\n “Based on our findings, the delivery-partner had followed the proper protocol by attempting to contact the customer, and after not being able to reach them, disposed of the food safely in accordance with the standard procedure.<\/p>\n “We have since credited the full earnings of this order to the delivery-partner and are currently investigating the matter further to prevent similar incidents from happening again.<\/p>\n “We encourage our delivery-partners to reach out to the Help Centre via the Grab Driver App should they face any difficulties.”<\/p>\n Click through the gallery above for more photos.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n
