They’re just trying to earn a simple living, and we should help if we can.”<\/p>\n
Even before posting the video, Ms Ng said she has always supported pasar malam vendors, especially the elderly running food stalls.<\/p>\n
“It’s really hot there, and you can see how much effort they put in. Sometimes the food prices seem high, but they’re not earning much because the rental is high. You always see them sweating\u2026 it’s heartbreaking. If we can, we should always try to support them, even just a little,” she added.<\/p>\n
Ms Ng also visited a vendor selling collectible bank notes at the same night market and plans to share that interaction on TikTok.<\/p>\n
Beyond the pasar malam<\/h3>\n
Working full-time with animals, Ms Ng hopes her video will inspire others to help not just local vendors, but also the elderly, people with disabilities, and those in need.<\/p>\n
“There’s so much we can do,” she said. “Volunteer at old folks’ homes, animal shelters, orphanages\u2026 even small actions make a difference. I hope people remember that the next time they feel bored, there’s always someone who needs help.”<\/p>\n
The Toa Payoh Central pasar malam runs until the end of November, giving shoppers time to drop by and support the vendors, according to Ms Ng.
