– a space where Stompers share reflections, personal essays and social commentaries that spark conversation and insight.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\nA man who discovered his wife’s infidelity last year said his marriage breakdown has now spiralled into a financial dispute over profits from a trading account they once shared.<\/p>\n
He told Stomp that he found out in late 2024 that his wife had been unfaithful.<\/p>\n
“I found out my wife cheated on me and became a lesbian and even brought her girlfriend into our BTO flat when I was not around,” the Stomper shared.<\/p>\n
“She lied and tried to hide but my flat’s CCTV captured it all.<\/p>\n
“We decided to divorce and wait for the court’s final judgement in May 2025 before transferring the ownership of our flat.<\/p>\n
According to him, the situation became more complicated when it came to their shared investments.<\/p>\n
He explained that his ex-wife had opened a trading account in 2024 and suffered significant losses of about $16,000 from her initial investment of $30,000. Hoping to help her recover financially, he said he contributed $39,000 to the account and began actively trading on her behalf.<\/p>\n
He said his ex-wife logged out from the account in mid-2024 and he has ben using her account to actively trade in stocks like Paramount, Nio, Alibaba and Dell.<\/p>\n
According to him, the account has grown to over $120,000.<\/p>\n
However, he alleged that after the couple’s lawyers contacted his ex-wife regarding the flat’s transfer in September 2025, she locked him out of the trading account and claimed the profits belonged solely to her.<\/p>\n
“She said I can only use the $39,000 I originally invested to deduct from the $280,000 I need to pay her for her BTO share – already at a $100,000 premium on top of her $180,000 CPF,” he said.<\/p>\n
“I paid nearly 65 per cent of the HDB price since I have more CPF savings and still shared potential future profits with her.”<\/p>\n
He added that the issue has now become part of their ongoing financial settlement, with both parties expected to present their case in family court.<\/p>\n
“I am prepared to fight in court till justice is served,” he said.<\/p>\n
