{"id":10102,"date":"2025-11-09T11:38:32","date_gmt":"2025-11-09T03:38:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=10102"},"modified":"2025-11-09T11:38:32","modified_gmt":"2025-11-09T03:38:32","slug":"2-men-charged-with-murder-over-chin-swee-road-fight-that-left-56-year-old-man-dead","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=10102","title":{"rendered":"2 men charged with murder over Chin Swee Road fight that left 56-year-old man dead"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">SINGAPORE \u2013 Two men have been charged with murder after they were involved in a fight in Chin Swee Road that left a 56-year-old man dead. <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">Tan Boon Hui, 58, and Poh Choon Kiat, 59, are both accused of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/singapore\/man-56-dead-after-fight-at-chin-swee-road-three-men-arrested?ref=inline-article\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" class=\"gap-x-04 items-center inline text-primary-60 select-auto\" aria-label=\"link\" target=\"_blank\" data-testid=\"custom-link\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular inline\" data-testid=\"paragraph-test-id\">killing a man after a fight on the 17th floor of Block 51 Chin Swee Road<\/p>\n<p><\/a> between 1am and 3am on Nov 8.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The duo were charged via video link on Nov 9.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">Tan, who was warded at Changi General Hospital, appeared on camera while lying in bed wearing a neck brace.   <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The prosecution requested a one-week remand to aid in the investigation and facilitate his return to the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">Tan, who spoke in Mandarin, told the court through an interpreter that his leg was swollen and that he is unable to move around.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The judge told him that as he is in hospital, he can receive treatment from the doctors there.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">Poh appeared on camera dressed in a red polo T-shirt and was being held in a different location.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">He said he had nothing to say after his charge was read out.   <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The police said on Nov 8 they received a call for assistance at the block at around 3.10am.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">When they arrived, the victim was found lying injured outside his flat on the 17th floor.
